Al-Bureij Society for Community Rehabilitation (BSCR) is a Palestinian non-profit civil society organization, established in )2001( through an initiative by a group of young people, with the aim of contributing to the development and empowerment of marginalized groups in the central Gaza Strip.
The Society began implementing its activities and programs in 2004 and obtained official registration and licensing as a charitable organization from the Palestinian Ministry of Interior under Registration No (7402), the Society works to promote the rights and well-being of marginalized and most vulnerable groups through the implementation of specialized programs and projects in capacity building, education, rehabilitation, humanitarian protection and community empowerment, where BSCR focuses on enhancing opportunities for participation, access to services and improving the quality of life of beneficiaries, particularly persons with disabilities, children, families and groups at greater risk of marginalization.
The Al-Bureij Society for Community Rehabilitation is guided in all its work by the principles of human rights, justice, equality, and non-discrimination and is committed to the values of transparency, accountability, respect for human dignity, tolerance, participation, empowerment and the rule of law.
Al-Bureij Society for Community Rehabilitation (BSCR) is a member of several local networks, coordination committees and coalitions, including:
1. Coordination Committee for Community Rehabilitation Centers in the Gaza Strip Refugee Camps (CCCRC): BSCR chairs the Coordination Committee for Community Rehabilitation Centers in the Gaza Strip refugee camps, in partnership with UNRWA where the committee includes seven community rehabilitation centers that provide education and rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities across the Gaza Strip.
2. Palestinian NGO Network: BSCR is a member of the Palestinian NGO Network and participates in coordination and collaboration efforts among civil society organizations.
3. Referral Network in the Middle Area: BSCR is a member of the Referral Network in the Middle Area, contributing to coordination and referral mechanisms among service providers and helping ensure that beneficiaries have access to appropriate services.
