Job Vacancy – Special Education Teacher

Job Vacancy Announcement:

Al-Burij Society for Community Rehabilitation is seeking a Special Education Teacher (Male/Female) to work at Al-Burij School for Special Education, providing educational and pedagogical services for children with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities and contributing to the development of their educational, independence, and social skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) according to each child’s abilities and needs.

2. Prepare and implement group educational plans based on the group’s level and the children’s needs.

3. Prepare and deliver lessons and educational activities in the following areas:

* Self-care and independent living skills.
* Social skills and interaction with others.
* Adaptation skills and adjustment to the environment and daily situations.
* Communication skills.
* Basic language, reading, and writing skills.
* Basic numeracy and mathematical skills.

4. Monitor children’s development and assess their progress in educational, functional, and social skills.

5. Prepare reports on children and document their level of progress and educational needs.

6. Cooperate with the work team and families in ways that support the child’s development and improve their ability to learn and integrate.

7. Participate in the educational and pedagogical activities and programs implemented by the school.

Required Qualifications:

1. A university degree or diploma in Special Education or a related field.

2. Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities. Previous experience in preparing and implementing individual and group educational plans is preferred.

3. Ability to prepare activities and lessons that take into account individual differences among children.

4. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children.

5. Ability to work as part of a team and perform under pressure.

6. Commitment to professional ethics and child protection principles.

7. A minimum of two years of practical experience is required.

8. Preference will be given to applicants from Al-Burij Camp or areas close to the Society.

Al-Burij – Ewaa Al-Sikka Street – Maren Hall – Palestine.
