Project: Learning and Psychosocial Recovery Units for Children

Location: Gaza Strip – Middle Area – Al-Burij Camp

Al-Burij Society for Community Rehabilitation announces a vacancy for qualified professionals to work within the project “Learning and Psychosocial Recovery Units for Children Affected by War.”

The project aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for children aged 6–12 years, combining active learning with psychosocial support to promote their recovery, well-being, and resilience.

Position Required:

Psychosocial Support Facilitator

Selection Process Note:

Two (2) candidates will be selected to participate in specialized training related to the position. Based on their performance and evaluation during the training, only one facilitator will be selected for final appointment and employment within the project.

Purpose of the Position:

To provide interactive sessions and emotional support aimed at promoting children’s well-being and psychosocial development, and to help them cope with and recover from the effects of war and displacement within a safe environment that adheres to child protection standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct interactive psychosocial support sessions and activities for children aged 6–12 years, aimed at strengthening coping skills and psychological resilience.

2. Apply age-appropriate psychosocial support methods and techniques.

3. Provide emotional and psychological support to children affected by war and displacement.

4. Monitor children’s well-being and document their progress and responses throughout the implementation of activities.

5. Collaborate with the project team to ensure integration between psychosocial support activities and educational activities.

6. Report any cases requiring specialized intervention in accordance with established child protection and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:
A university degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field.

Experience:
Previous experience in providing psychosocial support to children, preferably in humanitarian, crisis, conflict, or displacement settings.

Skills:
Knowledge of psychosocial support methods and techniques, strong communication skills, ability to work effectively under pressure, and full commitment to child protection and safeguarding principles.

Contract Details:
For the successful candidate following the training.

Contract Duration: 4 months

Working Hours: 6 hours per day, 6 days per week
