Al-Bureij Society for Community Rehabilitation Launches the Learning and Psychosocial Recovery Units Project for Children in Al-Bureij Camp
Al-Bureij Society for Community Rehabilitation has signed a cooperation agreement with the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) to implement the project “Learning and Psychosocial Recovery Units for War-Affected Children in the Gaza Strip”, which is being implemented for the first time in Al-Bureij Camp with the aim of supporting children affected by the consequences of the war and promoting their psychosocial well-being.
The project targets children aged 6–12 years and provides them with a safe and inclusive interactive learning environment that combines learning activities, psychosocial support and recreational activities, helping children regain a sense of safety, develop their skills and strengthen their ability to cope and recover.
The Society has begun implementing the necessary preparations for the project including preparing learning spaces, organizing preparatory meetings and building the readiness of the project team to ensure that activities are implemented according to an approach that takes into account children’s needs and circumstances.
The photos show aspects of the preparations, arrangements and initial meetings of the project team, along with a number of educational and recreational activities implemented during the first days of the project.
Through this project, Al-Bureij Society for Community Rehabilitation reaffirms its commitment to continuing to provide safe and inclusive educational and psychosocial services for children and strengthening partnerships with supporting organizations in a way that contributes to responding to the growing needs of children and families affected by the crisis in the Gaza Strip.
